About Remnant

In early 2016, the Lord placed a demand on the hearts of Pastors John and Brandy Woolum and they began to feel led to pray for an opportunity to step out in His call. By the winter of that year, they had approached their Lead Pastor along with some other faithful leaders and committed to praying about planting a church. After months of council, prayer and fasting, that call became a birthed reality. Along with a handful of like-minded people, they began Remnant Ministries in June of 2017 in the private home of one of it’s members.  During the first 8 months, the membership slowly grew in number as well as ministry opportunities.

In January of 2018, having outgrown the private home location, Pastors began looking for rental space for their services. This proved to initiate a chain of events that led to Remnant Ministries being invited into the Church of God, Cleveland Assembly. In February of 2018, the Church of God became the covering denomination of Remnant and the process toward transition to Remnant Church of God was begun .

What We Believe

  • The Bible is verbally inspired of God and is the revelation of God to man. [ 2Timothy 3:15-17]
  • In one God, eternally existing in 3 persons; namely Father, Son and Holy Spirit. Because the 3 persons in the Godhead are in a             state of unity, there is but One Lord God Almighty, Creator of heaven and earth, Redeemer of Mankind and He is the eternally self-         existent “I AM”. [ John 1:18, 15:26, 17:11,21]
  • Jesus Christ is the only begotten Son of the Father, conceived of the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary. He was crucified, buried           and raised from the dead. He ascended to heaven and is today at the right hand of the Father as our Intercessor. [Matthew 1:18;             27:45-56, 28:2-7]
  • Man was created in God’s image, yet voluntarily fell by transgression and incurred not only physical death but spiritual death as             well. [Genesis 1:26-27, 2:17, 3:6]
  • Salvation is received through repentance and faith in the Lord Jesus Christ, being regenerated and renewed in the Holy Spirit and            justified through Grace as an heir of God. [Luke 24:45-47, John 3:3, Romans 10:13-15]
  • Every believer is entitled to and should seek the promises of the Father, including:
    • The Baptism of the Holy Spirit, which brings the enduement of power for life and service to God, and is the gateway to the Gifts of        the Spirit. [ Acts 1:4-8, 2:4]
    • Divine healing provided in the Atonement. [ Isaiah 53:4-5, Matthew 8:16-17]
    • Evidence as works of miracles, spiritual authority and dominion over self and evil spirits.  [ Luke 9:1-2]
  • Sanctification by recognizing our identification with Christ through His sacrifice in His death and resurrection, and by faith, reckoning       daily the dominion of the Holy Spirit and the Word.[ Romans 6:1-11, 8:1-2; Galatians 2:20; Philippians 2:12-13]
  • In the authority and holiness of Communion and the washing of feet, in water baptism by immersion in the name of the Father, the         Son and the Holy Spirit. [2 Peter 1:4, Matthew 28:19]
  • The premillennial second coming of Jesus to call together the righteous and to reign on the earth, the bodily resurrection of the               deceased and eternal placement for both the righteous with Christ and the unrighteous in eternal punishment. [ Zachariah 14:5,             Revelation 1:7; 19:11-14; 20:1-6]
